This is my first time here at Alez Caribbean Restaurant and the food was pretty good. It's lunch time, so customers were coming in ordering the lunch special and food off of the menu. I looked at the menu and chose the fried turkey with rice and peas, plantains, and no pikliz ( Spicy Haitian cole slaw). I don't like spicy food. The turkey was seasoned very well, the food was hot and delicious. I had gravy for the rice and just tasted a few spoon fulls since I'm not a rice eater. It was good as well and the plantains were good too. When I looked up Caribbean food on Yelp, this restaurant came up. When I come back to Tampa, I will order Grenadia which is Passion Fruit drink and Red Snapper with plantains.
Yes..yes...yes....I found this lil diamond in the ruff to watch the Mayweather/McGregor fight for only $10 on this huge projector screen...I didn't order anything cause I was only there for the fight but I will check their menu out real soon!
So had the pleasure of finally trying this establishment food (even though it was take out). Must say if the take out food was on point I can imagine how dinning in will be. This is one place I can honestly say that I was kind of skepitical of trying but being a yelper we go every and anywhere to put the word out on what is good and what is not. This place is a YES!!!!! For take out I was highly impress with the food, It look as good as it tasted. My meal I ordered the griot (fried pork) with long grain rice with plantains, my wife had the stew goat with rice and plantains. OMG!!!! talk about taste and yummy food. This place can be a 5 stars establishment but first must dine in to reassure my fellow yelpers. Truth be told I'm excited that this place came across when it did. Now I know that there is a place where I can get some good caribbean/haitian food. No longer will I have to suffer with the local ones that already exist in this area. So if your looking for some 'AMAZING" home style haitian food. Look no further trust me when I tell you that this place will win your heart as well as your belly. Kudos to you Alez for cooking with love.
